New exchange program with UC Davis

Students of the LLM Programme in International and European Economic and Commercial Law can now spend up to one semester and earn credits in the JD and LLM Programme of the School of Law at the University of California in Davis (CA, United States). The LLM/MAS programme at the University of Lausanne has cooperation agreements with a limited number of carefully selected international partner universities that assure the same leve and quality of teaching. The goal is to enable students desiring so to gain experience and a complementary perspective in another region important for international economic and commercial law, including the new emerging economies.

Carlos A. Primo Braga is currently Professor of International Political Economy at IMD and Director of the Evian Group, an international coalition of corporate, government and opinion leaders, united by a common vision of enhancing global prosperity by fostering an open, inclusive and equitable global market economy in a rules-based multilateral framework. His areas of special interest include international trade, foreign direct investment, economics of innovation, intellectual property rights, sovereign debt, global governance and development economics.

This year's Otto-Riese-Lecture on Thursday 19 September will be delivered by Ricardo Cortes-Monroy (Nestlé Group Chief Legal Officer and General Counsel). It will be part of the annual opening ceremony of the LLM programme and the Diploma award ceremony held for the outgoing LLM students ! The exact programme will follow soon...

Annual Academic LLM Conference /Alumni Seminar

Save the date ! As every year the LLM Programme in International and European Economic and Commercial Law (Master of Advanced Studies) at the University of Lausanne will organize an academic conference on Friday 20 September 2013 as well a get together of new, current and former students of the programme starting with the traditional Otto-Riese-Lecture on Thursday evening 19 September and with the possibility to spend time together on Saturday and Sunday 21/22 September. The academic Conference will be devoted to raw materials and commodities in international economic law ! The exact programme will follow soon...

2013 SUMMER SCHOOL (LLM PROGRAMME)

For the fifth time the LLM Programme of the University of Lausanne wil organize during the summer in cooperation with two US law schools (3 June - 30 June and 15-25 July) a summer programme on the UNIL campus taught entirely in English. Courses include Comparative and International Health Law, Comparative Constitutional Law, International Litigation and Arbitration and Investment Law and WTO Law. Many excursions to the international organizations and sports federations in Geneva and Lausanne are planned. The participation is free of charge for interested LLM and MLaw students of the Faculty of Law of the University of Lausanne. For more information please contact llm@unil.ch.
